Angel Numbers and the Search for Hidden Knowledge
At the heart of angel numbers is the belief that repeated numerical patterns contain private spiritual messages. This pursuit of secret knowledge reflects the same temptation found throughout false spirituality: the desire to receive guidance outside of what God has clearly revealed.Scripture may use certain numbers repeatedly, but it never instructs Christians to interpret license plates, receipts, clocks, birthdays, or other numerical patterns as personalized messages from God. Turning numbers into private revelation is not biblical discernment. It is a form of divination.The Danger of Automatic Writing and Spiritual Downloads
Doreen explains how automatic writing involves entering an altered state and recording thoughts, impressions, visions, or voices without testing their source. During her former New Age career, she used these practices to produce teachings that were later published and widely distributed.This is fundamentally different from the inspiration of Scripture. The human authors of the Bible wrote under the sovereign direction of the Holy Spirit. They were not attempting to surrender control of their minds or bodies to unknown spiritual forces.Christians must therefore reject claims of spiritual downloads, channeled messages, automatic writing, and new revelation. God has already given His people a trustworthy and sufficient Word.The Sufficiency of Scripture
Christians do not need angel numbers, mystical signs, secret revelations, or supernatural patterns to know God’s will. God has spoken fully and clearly in Scripture. His Word teaches believers the truth, exposes error, provides wisdom, and points continually to Jesus Christ.Rather than interpreting coincidences or searching for hidden messages, Christians are called to test everything by Scripture, seek wisdom from God, pray faithfully, listen to godly counsel, and trust the providence of the Lord.“Test everything; hold fast what is good.”1 Thessalonians 5:21
Helping Friends and Family Involved in New Age Spirituality
Christians should respond to people involved in New Age beliefs with truth, patience, compassion, and prayer. Listening carefully and showing genuine concern can create opportunities to explain who Jesus truly is and why the gospel offers far greater hope than mystical experiences.People cannot be argued into spiritual life. The gospel is the power of God for salvation. Believers should pray for the Holy Spirit to open blind eyes, lovingly share the truth of Scripture, and patiently walk alongside those who are questioning New Age practices.Stand Firm on the Word of God
In a culture constantly searching for hidden messages, spiritual signs, and secret knowledge, Christians have something infinitely better. God has spoken through His Son and in His written Word.Scripture gives believers clarity in confusion, stability in uncertainty, wisdom for daily decisions, and lasting hope in Jesus Christ.
