Ezra 9, True Repentance and the Mercy of God
Wednesday, December 3, 2025
Show Summary
Ezra 9 records one of the most sobering moments in Israel’s restoration. After returning to Jerusalem, Ezra discovers that many of the people including priests and leaders have compromised by marrying those who worship false gods. This was not about ethnicity or culture, but about spiritual fidelity to the Lord.
Ezra responds with holy grief. He tears his garments, falls before the Lord in brokenness, and prays a powerful prayer of confession. In this episode, we see how true repentance flows from a heart that grieves over sin and clings to the mercy of a covenant-keeping God.
