Episode Summary
Proverbs 9 presents two invitations: the call of wisdom and the call of folly. Both call out. Both invite. But only one leads to life.In this chapter, wisdom is pictured as preparing a feast and calling sinners to leave their simple ways and live. Folly, by contrast, is loud, seductive, and deceptive. She offers what seems pleasant in secret, but her way leads to death. This episode considers Wisdom’s invitation, the response of the wise and the fool, the fear of the Lord as the foundation of wisdom, and the dangerous deception of folly. Proverbs 9 ultimately points us to Jesus Christ, who alone gives true life, wisdom, righteousness, and rest.Key Verse
