Living Faithfully in the Public Square
Christians are called neither to withdraw from society nor to compromise with the culture. We are called to live visibly, faithfully, and intentionally as the light of the world.
Episode Summary
Christians do not live in isolation. We live in communities, participate in society, and engage with the culture around us. That means the Christian faith is not merely private. It shapes how believers speak, work, serve, make decisions, and interact with others in public life.
In this weekend reflection, Dave Jenkins considers the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:14–16 and explains what it means for Christians to live as the light of the world. Some respond to cultural pressure by withdrawing completely, while others gradually become shaped by the culture. Scripture calls Christians to something different: faithful presence.
Living faithfully in the public square means holding firmly to biblical truth, speaking with grace, acting with integrity, and engaging others with wisdom. Our confidence does not rest in cultural influence, political control, or public approval. It rests in Jesus Christ.
