Esther: God’s Hidden Hand of Providence and Protection

Esther tells the story of God preserving His covenant people while they live in exile under the Persian Empire.
Though God’s name is never mentioned in the book, His sovereign providence is woven into every scene guiding “ordinary” events for extraordinary purposes.

The narrative unfolds during the reign of King Xerxes (Ahasuerus), where a royal crisis leads to Esther a Jewish young woman being placed in the position of queen. At the same time, Mordecai stands firm in faith, refusing to bow to wickedness, even when it provokes opposition.

When Haman plots to annihilate the Jewish people, Esther is called to courage and costly obedience. Through prayerful restraint, wise timing, and bold intercession, the Lord overturns the enemy’s scheme, humbles the proud, and brings deliverance to His people. The Feast of Purim is established as a lasting reminder that God’s people rejoice in His justice and steadfast care.

Ultimately, Esther reminds us that God is never absent He is always present, always faithful, and always working for His glory and the good of His people, even when His hand seems hidden in the shadows.
