📖 1 Samuel 20: Covenant Faithfulness and Peace in the Midst of Conflict
In today’s passage, we witness one of the most heartfelt moments in all of Scripture—the covenant loyalty between David and Jonathan. With Saul determined to kill David, Jonathan chooses faithfulness not to power or comfort, but to God, to truth, and to his friend.
- The cost of covenant faithfulness
- The pain of betrayal and misunderstanding
- The strength of godly friendship
- The peace that comes from trusting the Lord—even when everything else falls apart
David was one step from death, yet he found refuge in Jonathan’s loyalty. Jonathan was torn between his father and his friend, yet he honored the Lord. And in the end, they both walked away in peace—because they trusted God, not their circumstances.
🕊️ Let this passage remind us that real peace doesn’t come from comfort or ease—it comes from faithfulness to the Lord and His promises.
