Christ Preserves His Church Through Every Generation
Church history includes persecution, doctrinal controversy, reformation, and renewal. Through these changing circumstances, Christ has continued to fulfill His promise to build His church. Its endurance rests on the faithfulness of its Savior.Isaiah 40:8 reminds us that God’s Word stands forever. Matthew 16:18 assures us that Christ will build His church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. The same Lord who sustained believers before us continues to sustain His people today.Four Ways to Stand Firm
- Trust God’s unchanging Word. Build your confidence on the truth of Scripture.
- Take comfort in Christ’s promise. Rest in His faithfulness to preserve His church.
- Learn from faithful believers. Let the example of those who have gone before you encourage perseverance.
- Proclaim the gospel in your generation. Faithfully pass on the same good news of Jesus Christ that you have received.
Leave a Legacy of Faithfulness
God calls His people to faithfulness to Himself, His Word, His gospel, and His church. We belong to the same family of faith that has confessed Christ throughout the centuries. Our privilege is to cherish that gospel, stand firmly on Scripture, and pass the truth to those who follow us.Key Scriptures
- Isaiah 40:8
- Matthew 16:18
