Recent days have seen fresh attacks by the New Atheists on the nature and character of God. Since the earliest times, people have asked, “If God made everything, who made God?” This question has intrigued thinkers and provided opponents of religion with some of their strongest ammunition. This objection is not a new one it was asked in ancient Greece and has confronted religious believers in the centuries since: “Who made God? Did God create man in his own image? Or was it the other way around?”

And Man Created God Is God a human invention traces the history of this question from its earliest civilization in the ancient world to its most famous historical proponents today. In the process the author reveals the many ways in which men have made gods and the many reasons why.

This book will challenge not only the non-Christian, but also the Christian by confronting them with their idolatry and point them to the Lord Jesus Christ. The point of this book is not to question who God is but to point to the wisdom of God as revealed in the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

This is a good book for Christians interested in reaching and understanding the mindset of skeptics and seekers. I recommend you get a copy of And Man Created God Is God a human invention by Robert Banks to learn how recent attacks on the nature and character of God by the New Atheists are not new objections but rather old issues thinkers and opponents of religions have been thinking through since the earliest times.
