Your Identity Is Found in Christ Alone
In this Weekend Reflection episode of Contending for the Word Q&A, Dave Jenkins reflects on one of the most important questions every person faces: Who are we really? Drawing from 2 Corinthians 5:17, Dave explains why believers find their identity not in their feelings, desires, experiences, or past failures, but in the finished work of Jesus Christ. This episode explores what it means to be a new creation, why Christian identity is secure, and how the gospel provides lasting stability in a culture marked by confusion and constant self-redefinition.

Episode Summary
After a week of episodes on identity, self-denial, temptation, holiness, compassion, and truth, this reflection brings the focus back to a central biblical question: Who are we really?
While the world tells people to look within themselves for identity, Scripture gives a better and more secure answer. Our deepest identity is not found in our feelings, desires, past, failures, or struggles. It is found in Christ alone.
Dave explains that when someone comes to Christ in repentance and faith, they are not merely improved; they are made new. In Christ, believers are forgiven, redeemed, adopted, and given a secure identity grounded in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
