Is The Chosen biblically accurate?

No. The Chosen takes great creative license, with its own creators admitting 95% of content is not from Scripture, often distorting the biblical text.

Why are Christians concerned about The Chosen?

Concerns include its Mormon funding, ecumenical theology, distorted portrayals of Jesus, and its potential to mislead viewers about who Christ is.

Sound Theology & Discernment• September 29, 2025 • Length: ~52 min • Guests: Gabe Hughes (WWUTT)

Show Summary

Is The Chosen faithful to Scripture, or does it present another Jesus? In this episode, Justin Peters is joined by pastor and apologist Gabe Hughes (WWUTT) to evaluate the show’s claims, the “same Jesus” statements regarding LDS theology, creative liberties like the Sermon on the Mount rehearsal and the John 3 scene, and the broader problem of depicting the sinless Son of God on film. We call believers back to the sufficiency of God’s Word.
