Why does the resurrection of Jesus matter?

The resurrection of Jesus Christ matters because it confirms His victory over sin and death and proves that salvation is real. Without the resurrection, Christianity collapses and faith is futile.

Was the resurrection of Jesus a historical event?

Yes, the resurrection of Jesus is presented in Scripture as a historical, bodily event witnessed by many. Christianity is rooted in this historical reality, not symbolic interpretation.

What happens if the resurrection is not true?

If the resurrection is not true, the Christian faith is empty and believers remain in their sins. The gospel depends entirely on the historical resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Easter, Worldviews, and the Resurrection: Why the Empty Tomb Still Divides the World

Host: Dave Jenkins | Show: Contending for the Word — Weekly Watch | Date: 4/11/2026

Show Summary

Every Easter season, something predictable happens—and even after Easter has passed, those patterns remain. The resurrection of Jesus gets softened, reframed, and repackaged.

But the issue is deeper than disagreement. It’s worldview. If Christ did not rise, Christianity collapses. But because He has risen, reality itself is defined by God’s truth and authority.

This episode steps back to examine what Easter reveals about culture, theology, and the authority of Scripture.

Key Scriptures

1 Corinthians 15:14–17
Luke 24
Acts 2:32
Romans 1:4

Full Episode Notes

The resurrection is the dividing line between Christianity and every competing worldview.

If it is symbolic, Christianity becomes therapeutic. If it is historical, it demands submission to Christ as Lord.

The issue is not just interpretation—it is authority.

Will Scripture define reality, or will culture reinterpret it?
