What does the destruction of Jerusalem teach us about God’s holiness and justice?

It shows that God’s judgments are certain and His holiness cannot be ignored. The exile is a reminder to take sin seriously and trust His promises.

How does the exile reveal both the depth of sin and the hope of God’s promises?

Exile reveals the consequences of covenant unfaithfulness, yet also shows God’s mercy as He preserves a remnant and continues the line of David.

Why is Jehoiachin’s release significant in the bigger story of redemption?

It preserves the Davidic line, pointing forward to Christ, the true King who reigns forever and brings ultimate restoration.

How does Christ fulfill the hope that lingers even at the end of 2 Kings?

Christ is the true Temple destroyed and raised, the faithful King where others failed, and the One who ends exile by reconciling us to God.
