What is the main message of 1 Kings 9?

1 Kings 9 emphasizes God's covenant with Solomon, reminding him that divine blessing is tied to obedience. While God affirms His promises, He also warns that disobedience will bring judgment, even on the temple itself.

Why did God appear to Solomon a second time?

God appeared to Solomon a second time to reaffirm the covenant He made after the temple dedication. This appearance included both a confirmation of blessing and a warning against turning away from Him.

How does this passage point to Christ?

While Solomon's reign was marked by God's presence in the temple, Jesus is the true and better Solomon who fulfills the covenant perfectly. In Christ, God dwells not in buildings, but in the hearts of His people by the Holy Spirit.
