Psalm 51: True Repentance and a Clean Heart
By Dave Jenkins | Reading the Bible Daily with Dave | March 31, 2026
Show Summary
Psalm 51 is one of the most personal and powerful prayers of repentance in all of Scripture. Written by David after his sin with Bathsheba was exposed, this psalm reveals what true repentance looks like before a holy God.
In this episode of Reading the Bible Daily with Dave, Dave Jenkins walks through Psalm 51 and explains how genuine repentance confesses sin honestly, pleads for God’s mercy, seeks heart renewal, and rests in the grace of God. This psalm reminds us that restoration begins not with self-reform, but with the Lord who alone can create a clean heart and restore the joy of salvation.
