The Kingdom of God Advances Through the Gospel, Not Political Power
Political power has a legitimate but limited role. Christians should care about truth, justice, morality, the protection of life, and the public good. The Gospel Accomplishes What Politics Cannot
Government can restrain evil, preserve order, punish wrongdoing, and protect the public good. Those responsibilities matter. But laws cannot create love for God, bring repentance, grant forgiveness, or make sinners alive in Christ. Only the Holy Spirit working through the gospel can transform the heart.The early church lived under pagan Roman rule, moral corruption, and persecution. Yet the apostles did not seek to establish Christ’s kingdom through political conquest. They preached Christ, called sinners to repentance and faith, planted churches, made disciples, prayed, suffered faithfully, and trusted the power of the Holy Spirit.The Mission Christ Gave His Church
Jesus commanded His church to make disciples, teach His Word, and bear witness to Him among the nations. The church must not confuse political influence with kingdom advancement. Cultural victories, institutional control, and electoral outcomes cannot replace gospel faithfulness.Christians can engage public life seriously without treating politics as a savior. We can seek justice and speak truth while keeping our ultimate hope fixed on Christ. His kingdom is not fragile. His gospel is not powerless.
