The French social theorist and post-structural philosopher, Michael Foucault, called for an agenda to dismantle the moral, philosophical foundation of Western Civilization. Put simply, Foucault ordered a Fascist-like army of academics to “deconstruct everything.” Foucault foresaw the strategic value of deconstructing the very core of human identity. The agenda has moved beyond the obscure gender study courses at, e.g., Berkeley and Yale, and the “war rooms” of countless disparate but unified coalitions of advocacy groups to Main Street USA.
Be careful that you do not become lulled into the agenda. The wholesale rejection of the natural order in favor of tolerating and promoting (without allowance for dissent) that which is unspeakable is in full combat mode.
We must reject the fantastical lies that will destroy human life. The College of American Pediatrics got it precisely right when they wrote that there is no such thing as gender identity but only two biological sexes. There is only male and female. In a statement declaring that teaching otherwise hurts children.
“A person’s belief that he or she is something they are not is, at best, a sign of confused thinking.”
Plastic surgery, hormone treatments, chemically delaying puberty, and the politically correct politics of “gender” cannot ever change the Creator’s handiwork. Pretending to be what you are not is a diabolical tactic to upend the created order and bring human beings into bondage. To support such unrealistic thinking by troubled individuals is tantamount to aiding a blind man to the edge of a cliff. “Do no harm” is as valid a summary of spiritual care professional ethics as it is in the realm of medical care.
Unbelief is a spiritual disease that left untreated will invariably result in individual (and cultural) lunacy (see Paul ’s assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for such pathological self-delusion, and its dehumanizing consequences in Romans 1:28-33). The Apostle Paul wrote, in part:
Romans 1:19-22, “For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. or although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.”
We must tell the truth. Only the truth brings freedom and promotes human flourishing (John 8:32). Anything less than a wholesale repudiation of the idea of “gender construct” over the biological reality of one’s sex being either male or female, is not only ethically wrong, but the one who fails to recognize and speak its utter absurdity, is an accessory to the perpetration of physical, mental, and spiritual “harm” on sadly delusional human beings. That an association of pediatricians can say with nonpartisan clarity what many Christian clergy cannot utter with Biblical fidelity is an indictment and a shame.
