Christian Cliche’s! We’ve all heard them, some of us have even used them, but are they Biblical? According to polls, 81% of professing Christians actually believe that one of these phrases is a genuine Bible verse. But here’s the kicker, not only are NONE of these in the Word of God, most of them are completely unbiblical. I brought my amazingly wonderful, utterly handsome husband, Justin Hereford, onto the program today to break these down Scripturally and logically. We even give some options for more doctrinally sound phrases to replace them. Below is a timestamped outline as well as the verses mentioned in today’s episode.
TS 00:05:45 – God won’t give you anything you can’t handle
For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself. 2 Cor. 1:8
TS 00:16:25 – God wants you happy, wealthy, and wise?
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15

TS 00:22:00 – There is a reason for everything…
TS 26:45 – Forgive and forget
The prudent sees danger and hides himself,
but the simple go on and suffer for it. Proverbs 22:3
TS 00:32:00 – Listen to your heart?
The heart is deceitful above all things,
and desperately sick;
who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9
For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. Matthew 15:19
TS 00:36:00 – God helps those who help themselves.
TS 00:42:55 – If God closes a door He’ll open a window?
