Called to Belong to Jesus Christ

Scripture: Romans 1:6–7In Romans 1:6–7, Paul turns directly to the believers in Rome and reminds them of their identity in Christ. They are called to belong to Jesus Christ, loved by God, called to be saints, and recipients of grace and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.Before Paul unfolds the universal guilt of sin, justification by faith, union with Christ, life in the Spirit, and gospel-shaped obedience, he grounds Christians in the saving grace of God. The gospel does not merely save nameless sinners in general. God calls sinners personally to belong to His Son.
