God Is Wrathful: Trusting His Righteous Justice
God is wrathful, and this biblical truth helps Christians understand His holiness, justice, mercy, and grace more clearly. In this episode of New Age to Christ, Doreen Virtue explains why the wrath of God is not like human anger, but His holy and righteous opposition to sin and evil.
New Age to Christ helps women who have come out of New Age spirituality grow in biblical truth, discernment, prayer, and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.
In this episode, Doreen Virtue reflects on the wrath of God as a holy and righteous attribute of His character. Many who come out of New Age spirituality were taught a shallow view of God as love while missing His holiness, justice, mercy, grace, and wrath. But Scripture reveals the whole character of God.
Doreen explains why God’s wrath is not like human anger, how the cross displays both God’s justice and mercy, and why Christians can trust the Lord when they are wronged or when evil appears to prosper.

The Wrath of God and the Hope of the Gospel
The wrath of God is not sinful human anger. God’s wrath is His holy and righteous opposition to evil. Because God is perfectly holy, He must judge sin. This truth shows us the seriousness of sin and the greatness of the gospel.
God is wrathful, but His wrath is never unjust, uncontrolled, or sinful. His wrath is holy justice against evil, and this makes the gospel of Jesus Christ even more glorious.
Jesus Christ bore the wrath sinners deserve. Through His sinless life, sacrificial death, burial, and bodily resurrection, all who repent of their sins and trust in Him are forgiven, adopted into God’s family, and freed from condemnation.
For the Christian, the wrath of God does not lead to despair. It leads to worship, reverence, gratitude, and peace. We can trust the Lord when we are wronged because He sees all things, judges righteously, and will make all things right in His perfect will and timing.
