Episode Notes
Central Truth
The Holy Spirit gives believers understanding of God’s Word, conviction of God’s truth, protection from deception, and wisdom to walk faithfully. Discernment begins and grows through His work in us.
Episode Highlights
- The Spirit illumines Scripture — He does not give new revelation; He illuminates God’s revealed Word.
- The Spirit shapes conviction — Discernment is rooted in biblically formed convictions, not mere information.
- The Spirit protects from deception — He warns, convicts, and guards believers through the Word stored in the heart.
- The Spirit empowers obedience — Discernment grows through obedience; the Spirit strengthens believers to walk in holiness.
Practical Application
- Ask the Spirit to open your eyes as you read Scripture.
- Ask Him to sharpen your convictions and strengthen your judgment.
- Ask Him to guard your steps and alert your heart to spiritual danger.
- Walk in obedience to the truth you already know, trusting God to deepen your discernment.
Dear Christian: The Spirit who inspired the Word will never lead you away from the Word. He steadies and strengthens God’s people in the truth He has revealed.
