Job 3, The Depths of Despair, When Words Fail
Reading the Bible Daily with Dave
Host: Dave Jenkins
Date: Monday, January 5, 2026
Scripture: Job 3:1–26 (ESV)
Show Summary
In Job 3, the silence of suffering breaks. After devastating loss and severe affliction, Job finally speaks, and his words are raw, honest, and filled with anguish. He does not curse God, but he does curse the day of his birth. This chapter reminds us that faith does not silence sorrow, and godliness does not forbid grief. Scripture gives believers permission to bring their darkest pain into the presence of God, trusting that the Lord remains near, compassionate, and sovereign even when answers are hidden.
