2 Chronicles 35 – Josiah’s Passover and Death: Faithful to the End
Date: Thursday, November 20, 2025
Show Summary
In this episode of Reading the Bible Daily with Dave, Dave Jenkins walks through 2 Chronicles 35, where King Josiah leads Judah in a historic Passover celebration rooted in God’s Word. The chapter highlights joyful, covenant-focused worship and then shifts to a sobering scene as Josiah dies in battle at Megiddo. Together, we see that faithful obedience honors God, yet even the most devoted servant must remain discerning and dependent on Him
to the very end. This passage ultimately points us to Christ, our true Passover Lamb and eternal King.

Conclusion
Thanks for joining me today on Reading the Bible Daily with Dave. In 2 Chronicles 35, we saw Josiah’s beautiful Passover celebration and his faithful leadership, followed by his tragic death. His life reminds us that obedience brings joy, but discernment and dependence on God must never fade. Tomorrow, we’ll close our journey through 2 Chronicles with chapter 36, a sobering reminder of Judah’s fall and the hope of restoration through God’s enduring covenant.
