Why was it wrong to transport the ark on a cart instead of by the Levites?

Because God commanded that the ark be carried by the Levites using poles (Num. 4:15; Deut. 10:8). Using a cart imitated pagan methods and disregarded God’s instructions.

It shows that God’s holiness cannot be treated casually or with presumption. Good intentions cannot excuse disobedience to His commands.

How does this passage challenge casual attitudes toward worship today?

It warns us not to approach God lightly but with reverence, obedience, and awe according to His Word.
