What does Isaiah 6 teach about God’s holiness?

Isaiah 6 shows that God is perfectly holy, set apart, pure, and righteous. The seraphim declare 'Holy, holy, holy,' emphasizing His absolute holiness. Isaiah responds in humility and repentance, showing how God’s holiness reveals our sin and our need for His cleansing grace.

Should Christians rely on feelings to know if God is near?

No. Feelings can change, but God’s Word is unchanging. James 4:8 says, 'Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.' We trust God’s promises in Scripture, not our emotions, to know that He is with us.

How can we draw near to God?

Christians draw near to God by knowing Him through His Word, prayer, loving and obeying Him, and trusting in the cleansing work of Jesus Christ. Repentance is a response to His holiness and grace, not something we achieve on our own.

God’s Holiness: Why Feelings Can’t Be the Test of His Presence | New Age to Christ with Doreen Virtue

Podcast: New Age to Christ
Teacher: Doreen Virtue

Many women tell me they use feelings as a test of whether God is near. But as Christians, our faith is not based on emotions—it’s grounded in the truth of God’s Word.

In this episode of the New Age to Christ Podcast, Doreen Virtue teaches from Isaiah 6 about the holiness of God. When Isaiah saw the Lord high and lifted up, he fell on his face, convicted of sin. Yet God responded with cleansing grace.

Why feelings are not a trustworthy test of God’s presence
What it means that God is holy, holy, holy
How God’s holiness reveals our sin and points us to Christ
Why repentance flows from understanding His holiness

Key Verse: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory.” — Isaiah 6:3

Through Christ’s shed blood, we are cleansed, forgiven, and welcomed into fellowship with our holy God.
