Today’s passage, 2 Kings 3, records a remarkable story of war, divine intervention, and the power of God’s Word spoken through the prophet Elisha. Jehoram, the son of Ahab, joins forces with Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom to battle Moab. But without water in the desert, the armies are on the brink of defeat—until they seek God’s prophet.

God shows Himself faithful, not because of the goodness of the kings, but because of His covenant and compassion. This chapter reminds us that when our strength runs dry, God is still able to provide—miraculously and mercifully.
