Article: What Is Biblical Manhood?

In a world where masculinity is often either demonized or reduced to shallow stereotypes, Christians must recover a biblical vision for manhood rooted in God’s Word. From the very beginning, God created men to reflect His image through responsible leadership, humble service, and courageous obedience.

Genesis 1–2 shows us that manhood is not a cultural construct but a divine design. God entrusted Adam with work, accountability, and spiritual headship long before the fall. This pattern continues in the pastoral letters, where Paul lays out qualifications that all men should aspire to: self-control, gentleness, faithfulness, and integrity.

Biblical manhood is not about dominance or passivity. It’s about living under God’s authority while leading with grace and conviction. May we reject the counterfeit versions of masculinity and embrace God’s high calling for men who reflect Christ.
