Many Christians wonder how to study the Bible faithfully, especially when coming out of false teaching or wanting to grow in sound doctrine.

To study the Bible faithfully, begin with prayer, read passages in their full context, use Scripture to interpret Scripture, understand the genre of the passage, and aim for the author’s intended meaning. Avoid adding extra-biblical revelation or subjective feelings over the text. Faithful study leads to sound doctrine, deeper worship, and confidence in God’s sufficient Word.
