Thoughts from The Theocratic Kingdom: Proposition 36

by | Feb 9, 2016 | Apologetics, Biblical Worldview, Contending

In Proposition 36, George Peters states:

“The Prophets, with one voice, describe this one Kingdom, thus restored, in terms expressive of the most glorious additions.”

In the promise of the return to the Garden outlined in Scripture, it is clear that the kingdom will be restored. What is also quite clear is the future kingdom will be even more glorious than the former. The descriptions found in Scripture of this future restored kingdom even outshine what we find described in Genesis regarding the Garden. The New Heavens and New Earth will indeed be glorious, of course because we will once again dwell with God as His people in His awesome presence, but also because the entire universe will be restored not just to its original glory, but with additions that are far beyond our wildest imaginations. Excited? If not, you should be very excited.

The most notable observation Peters presents in Proposition 36 is the following:

“Those additions are so great in their nature, so striking in their characteristics, so manifesting the interference of the Supernatural, that no one can possibly mistake when this Kingdom is restored.”

I might humbly add to Peters observation that some might be mistaken. Some may still be looking for a Kingdom other than what Scripture outlines and some make be tricked into thinking something has arrived before it is scheduled to take place according to God’s divine timeline. We must be careful as believers to not fall prey to the allusion of a Kingdom that is not of God. With that said, those who are watchful and understand what God has told us in His Word about His coming restored Kingdom will be aware of any counterfeit and will be the ones to enjoy the fruits of their faithfulness when they enjoy for eternity living under the rule of our Sovereign God in His Theocratic Kingdom.
