The Importance of Being a Pastor/Theologian – “We need more pastor/theologians. We need a higher view of the promises of God to bless the spread of the Gospel through the church. We need a higher appreciation for why pastor/theologians are so important in this fallen world. May God raise up a generation of new pastor/theologians who will be used by Him to turn the world upside down.”

Self-Control and the Power of Christ – “Christian self-control is not finally about bringing our bodily passions under our own control, but under the control of Christ by the power of his Spirit.”

Does God Have Regret – “It is the nature of our covenantal relationship with God to know God as one who responds and reacts, which ought to appear to us all the more amazing because it is the nature of our covenant keeping God never to lie, repent, or change his mind (Num. 23:19).”

Union with Christ: A Matter of Spiritual Life and Death – “Union with Christ is one of the central theological principles of the Christian faith. Its pervasive presence in the New Testament typically is indicated by the word in, a simple preposition with profound implications.”

And the church is one of the other authorities that we should follow. But that is not a declaration that the church is an authority over the Bible. On the contrary, the proper posture of God’s people (the church) is always one of submission to God’s word. There is no higher authority than God himself.”
