Be Ready to Answer Your Kids’ Questions About the Bible – “Christianity stands or falls on the reliability, inspiration, and authority of the Bible. Children pick up on that early. We tell them that they should trust the Bible. At some point they will (and should) ask why (if they feel it’s okay to ask).”

What Should Evangelicals Make of the Rome Synod on the Family? – “Should we patiently love and offer the gospel to those who are refusing to repent of immorality, whether cohabitation of anything else? Yes. Should we baptize and admit those into membership those who refuse to walk away from such things? No.”

How to Engage Culture as a Christian – “But we need to be reminded that we bring our Christian worldview with us when we enter the doors of a museum and a concert hall. If we are to live out the “Christ transforming culture” model that Niebuhr espouses, we have to be fully engaged. We have to reflect deeply. We have to ask hard questions, even of our brothers and sisters in Christ.”

What Do Systematic Theologians Talk About? – “The short answer is that they talk about exactly the same things as Biblical Theologians. As we have already noted, however, while Biblical Theology traces the progressive revelation of the divine mind, pausing over the contribution of each individual era and each individual biblical writer, Systematic Theology assumes that salvation-history has come to an end and that in the Scriptures we now have God’s last word (for the present). Its subject-matter, then, is ‘the whole counsel of God’.”

Where Did Ebola Come From? – “There should be a concerted effort to find reputable organizations that perform medical missions and give financially to help send the necessary medical supplies where they are needed most. But most importantly, it is important that we pray for the sick. We live in a sin-cursed world with death, disease, pain, and suffering. Those that contract this deadly virus will most likely meet their Maker soon. We should pray for the missionaries remaining in the country who are on the ground, meeting needs, to give them boldness to share the gospel under such dire consequences. What a wonderful opportunity to share with these sick and dying people that they do not have to spend eternity separated from a loving God.”
